Happy Birthday to our Sweet Angel!

HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!

Paul and I spent the morning at the Temple. It was the perfect way to start the day.

We went to the Zoo with some cousins!
The Zoo was one of Ashley's favorite places. We have so many fun memories with her there.

Hannah, Addie, and Alice!
Cole, Hannah, Alice, Braxton, Addie, & Jack

We met this evening at the cemetery with our family. It was nice to have everyone there, minus those on vacation, we missed you!

This cake was so cool.
The picture of Ashley and Cinderella, was made on a edible sugar sheet. The picture was so clear & you could eat it, should you choose to, although no one felt comfortable eating the piece with Ashley's face on it!

Ashley we love you and miss you more than you could know. We can't wait for the day when we can celebrate birthdays together, and hug and kiss you to pieces. Although when that glorious day comes when we get to hold you in our arms, I don't think I am going to be able to let you go. Crazy to think if you were here you would be getting baptized! I wish I could just have a little vision of what you would look like at age 8. I know you would be beautiful!
When Aunt Lynette told Addie it was your birthday today she said "Alice's sister is alive again!!?" Oh how I wish that were true!

Thanks to so many who remembered our family and Ashley on her birthday. The phone calls, messages, texts, FB posts, e-mails, treats, visits, and a decorated porch have meant more to us than you could ever know! Thanks so much. We love you all!

Alice loves that her and Cole both have Batman shirts!
As Alice would say "same, same, shirts!"

Goooooooooo Cougars!
Daddy's hat might be too big right now, but not for long!

*****************

These are just some cute picture of the kids in the front yard.

Maverick loves Alice's kisses!

I was taking Alice's picture and turned around to find this... Cole had crawled over to the dirt and was talking big handfuls, looking at it, then dropping it! Oh no.... I am sure it's just the beginning of boys and their love for dirt!

I just want to kiss him all day, he is so dang cute!

We were driving in the car and Alice was so trilled that Mav wanted to ride on her lap! She couldn't take her eyes off her movie, but at least she gave us a smile! :)

********************

Last week we went to the petting zoo with some friends. It was a lot of fun. This was Alice's first time here and she loved it!
Here she is feeding the goat!

She loved the pony ride. I wasn't sure if she would be too scared or not, but she loved it!

Here is Ashley at age 4, in April of 2007, about a month before she was diagnosed!

Cole liked looking at the animals too!

***************
Alice is growing up so fast. She has such a fun personality. We feel like lately she is looking more and more like her big sis! We aren't the only ones either, several people have commented on the same thing the past month or so!

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!

First and Foremost:
The most important part of my post:

***********************

August Fun!

Cole loved playing with these balloons!

A couple of weeks ago the flood gates opened and down came the rain. REALLY HARD, AND REALLY FAST! Cole loved looking out the window, watching it!

Jane, Mary, & Alice swimming at Aunt Jill's pool!
Cole just got to watch them!

One Sunday afternoon I was making dinner and thought "where did Alice go?" I peered around the corner to find this! I quickly grabbed my camera. If you look at her finger, she is actually pointing at something, so cute, I love it! Also, note the leash around Maverick's neck, I don't think he is there by choice, but willing none the less! Alice puts Maverick on a leash a lot, she likes to make him go where she wants him to go! He is such a good sport!

And here she is reading a book to Cole. I love that she is even showing him the book so he can see. She would make a great teacher someday!
(Notice her wearing her swimsuit! Story about that to follow)

Can't beat $2 Tuesday's at Thanksgiving Point with some friends!
(Will, Cameron, Lexi, & Alice)

And here they are again, in the wagon a few days later, while there daddies were helping us move a tree!

Swimsuit Story!
I need to journal this so that I don't forget! If I counted the time that Alice has worn her swimsuit this summer, it would pretty much be EVERY SINGLE DAY! At some point during the day Alice will put her swimsuit on, whether or not she wears it the whole day or not just depends on her mood. If she is not wearing her swimsuit, she is in her jammies, nightgowns being her favorite. It is a fight whenever we leave the house to get her to put clothes on. So depending on if I want to battle her or not, I sometimes even let her wear her swimsuit under her clothes as we go out! She is allowed to wear it for her nap time, but I draw the line for bedtime. So uncomfortable!
As we were working in the yard, I was talking to Paul about a memory of Ashley helping us out in the yard one time, and her walking all over a huge pile of gravel that we had delivered in her new leather boots! Next thing I know Alice goes in the house and comes out wearing her leather boots!

Alice has loved her swim lessons this summer. Her teacher Theresa has been really great with her. We have decided to do them every other week through the winter, because she loves them so much!

Bike Race & Graduation

Paul rode in his first century bike race a couple of weeks ago.
108 miles!
Wow!
Way to go Sweetheart! We are so proud of you! His longest bike ride before this point was 50 miles, so to then go 108 is awesome! He loved riding with his buddy Todd, and is already looking forward to doing more.

Todd & Paul

Good Job Daddy!

Some backyard summer afternoon fun!

Alice loved laying down in the water. Talk about a girls dream.... to layout, but be in water to keep you cool!

Alice was so excited for Cole to wake up from his nap so he could come join her! He loved splashing in the water!

*******************

Cole's 1st taste of sugar!
I needed to keep him busy and good while I was cooking, so why not give him a dumb dumb!
He loved it!

Paul's Graduation!
Yeah, its official! He had his graduation last friday. We are so excited for him and proud of all the hard work he put in to his MBA!

So Precious!

Way to go Daddy!
You can see from this picture how fond Alice is of her Daddy! She just adores him!
