Bike Trailer

We are loving our new bike trailer! Here is Alice and Mav up in Midway a few weekends ago. I love how she can't put her cell phone down, she just has to talk while riding!

And this was last week after the Draper Days Parade. I guess she had too much excitement for one morning and couldn't make if 5 minutes back home before falling asleep!

A Crazy June!

You know it's time to update your blog when your 6 year old niece is giving you a hard time! I know it's been awhile! Here's what we've been up to.

Last week was the funeral of our sweet friend Sadie Huish. She battled long and hard and brave the same brain tumor (known as DIPG) as Ashley. We are so grateful the Huish family for letting us into their lives and letting us get to know there little princess. The funeral was obviously sad, but yet a beautiful tribute to a beautiful girl. I was sitting out in the foyer and sweet little Olivia, Sadie's little sister, spent some time with me near the end of the service drawing pictures, and then cuddled up in my lap and almost fell asleep. It was sweet, I had to hold back the tears.

Here is Sadie and Olivia at our house back in September playing in Ashley's dress ups.

Here is the DIPG group that was at Sadie's graveside service.
I am so glad I know these people, although I don't like the circumstances in which we know each other. Hannah Binn's mother came from Texas, and Mara Adams parents came from Washington. I wish we could have a picture of all of our little girls in heaven together!

We miss you already Sadie, give Ashley a HUGE hug for us!

WE LOVE CALIFORNIA!

In order to get your daughter to love tennis, you get a room overlooking the tennis courts!

Could someone get me some more ice please!

ThE LiFe!
A little chicken fingers and fries by the pool. SpOiLeD!

So Adorable!

Alice loves smelling flowers!

Alice loved the beach, it took her a minute to figure it out, but she ended up loving it. Her and I stood at the edge of the water for probably 20-30 min., or until my back couldn't take it anymore, just letting the waves come up and hit our feet. She could have stood there all day.

Paul and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary while there. The past 8 years have brought a whirlwind of trials and emotions, but I am so glad I have my best friend right by my side to help me through them all. I can't imagine my life without him! I am the luckiest woman ever!

Chloe & The Museum!

Last week Ashley's friend Chloe slept over and spent the whole next day with me. We had so much fun. She has been wanting to sleep over for a long time. When we were eating breakfast she said, "This is my dream come true." Then during lunch she said, "This is the best day of my whole life." It was darling! Thanks Chloe, it was fun to have a little buddy around!

Today we went to the Children's Discovery Museum. It was Alice's first time and she really enjoyed it. Here she is playing with her friends Lexi & Will.

There are hundreds of toys to choose from, but why go out of your comfort zone. Alice has one of these little push cars at home, but the whole time she was playing in the kitchen she had to keep one hand on it, pulling it with her while she played.

Alice loves horses, here she is with some random boy who wanted to sit with her.

She is also obsessed with steering wheels. She loved driving the truck!

Another obsession, WATER!

Needless to say we had a very fun day!

Springtime Fun!

So last week my friend Lindsey came over and brought Slurpees. She gave them to the kids, who had never had them before, and they just started giggling. They totally loved them! They wouldn't let go, even as they climbed the ladder and went down the slide, they were not about the let go!

Here is Will feeding Alice hers!

As many of you know, Ashley loved doing the little fused bead things. It was one of her favorite crafts. We have so many, which I totally love. Well a couple of weeks ago, I visited Sadie Huish, our brave little 6 yr. old friend fighting the same brain tumor as Ashley. The first time we met Sadie we gave her a container of these beads, telling her how much Ashley loved to do them. Well when I was about to leave she gave me a very special gift, she made a beautiful heart that she wanted me to take to Ashley's grave. What a sweetheart! Thanks Sadie! I know Ashley loves it!

Here are some of Ashley's

One of Alice's new obsessions............... swinging!
She points outside and says whee whee, because as she is swinging I will say to her, whee.......whee. Funny!

I think she is also becoming obsessed with her giraffe. We have always kept it in her crib, and all of the sudden she has to hold it when she is going to bed. Just look at how tight her grip on it is!

And thank you to my wonderful sis-in-law Suzanne, for the new blog page.
You are so talented!

Easter Egg Hunt

We have totally enjoyed the past couple of days of sunshine, to then wake up today to pouring rain. Alice absolutely loves to be outside, she whines at the door to go out, and cries when we have to come back in!

Alice had her 1st Easter Egg hunt on Tuesday. My friend Kelli organized it and had a bunch of friends come. It was so much fun. At first Alice wasn't quite sure what to do, but when she discovered there were jelly beans inside some eggs and I gave her one, she learned really quick what to do.

On Monday we had the opportunity to meet for dinner with Mara Adams family. She passed away last September from the same brain tumor as Ashley. They live in WA, but were in town for the week. It was so nice to get together with them. Always emotional, but nice. We feel as if we have known them forever.

Alice @ 15 months

We are so wishing Spring would actually get here. But until then, we will just keep playing inside and watch the snow come down.

Could it get any messier? Yes, it got way worse! Just didn't snap another shot!
