We had the wonderful opportunity of having Sadie Huish and her family over for dinner last Saturday. It was a pleasure to have them in our home. Sadie brings such a wonderful spirit with her. Like I wrote on Ashley's site, she reminds us so much of Ashley, that it is hard to explain. They look, act, and talk a lot a like. Sadie is so very sweet. She is so brave to be going through this difficult trial. Her family is amazing to. We feel such an amazing connection with them and with Mara Adams and her family. I think we were friends before this life, knowing we would be enduring the very same trial.

When we saw the story on Sadie on the news, we thought "she looks looks just like Ashley!" She is so cute, I have to admit I have to prepare myself everytime I check your blog or your fighters link. It is so hard to look at for me. I just feel so sad and feel like I knew Ashley, she just has that glow that makes you feel like you know her and can just picture her personality. I love to check in on you and sometimes I just sit and wonder how you do it. I admire you, I think you are a god-send for Mara, Sadie and Morgan's families. Obviously you are meant to do more than you realize. Not a day goes by we don't think and pray for you and your family.
What a neat thing that your families can be such great friends and help eachother out during trying times like this! I am sure her family looks to yours and Pauls wonderful example and light.
We, too, saw her story on the news and also thought how much she looks like Ashley. Sadie is a lucky girl to resemble Ashley!

Hi Emily-So glad you have a blog! It's such a fun way to keep in touch.
I'm so glad that you are able to be there for other families facing your same challenge. I am sure you are an absolute strength to them. It is so amazing to me that you are so unselfish in your grief. Always remembering others and their suffering and trying to make their lives happier. Thank you for sharing.
I remember when I was out there for the funeral, watching TV with I think chris and siri. We saw on TV when she got to meet President Monson. I remember thinking how interesting that she not only looks soooo close to Ashley, but that it's the exact same rare condition, and she was diagnosed around the same age. Wow. What a strength you must be to them Paul and Emily.
Emily - My name is Jyl Cowart and my husband Jeff and Paul played football together at BYU. I think I commented on you caring bridge one day but I felt like I needed to let you know that your families story has touched our lives. We have a little 6 year old and I was able to show her the picture of her and tell her about Ashley and she said.. "I think she is my friend" like she recognized her from somewhere. (Maybe in the pre-existance) Your and Paul's positive thoughts have encouraged and inspired me. I want to thank you for touching our lives (and you didn't even know) Your family is continually in our thoughts and prayers.
I have a blog but it is private but if you are interested in looking at it to put a face to the name, send me an e-mail at: jylcowart@gmail.com
I enjoy looking at your blog and reading your caring bridge on Ashley. (Hope you don't mind)

So sweet. I looked at Sadie's website before and totally thought she looked like Ashley. What precious, beautiful girls. How sweet that you're able to connect with these wonderful families and children and be a strength to one another. I love that Alice was loving Sadie. I'm sure she felt Ashley's sweet spirit with her. Oh, how we love and admire the Petersons!
Cutest new background!! Are you a digital scrapbooker?
You know I have to admit, I have a little crush on Nick Lachey, I have loved this song forever. I've never really listened to the words until I saw it on your blog. It takes on a new meaning. Hope your suviving. Your still in our thoughts and prayers day and night. We are missing her! Faith brought up her little poodle from the playroom today that Ashely gave her. She and I talked about some fun memories of Ashley. She left a place in a lot of peoples hearts! We love you guys.
Emily,
I missed seeing you at church last Sunday.Izzie was done with it all.
I have been reading Sadie's and Mara's blogs. They are so cute and so brave. You are so wonderful to be such a support to them, especially when it must bring so many emotions for you. But helping others tends to help I think. You are my role model! See you soon! I love your new pictures and background.
What a great experience! Sadie is such a beautiful girl just like Ashley. I can't believe how much they look alike. I love you Em and think about you all the time.
